"I NO LIKE DAT!"

Isobel has been opinionated about what she puts on for a while now.  Some days she goes through a few outfits before she will commit to one. I've been doing my best letting her pick what she wants, but in the end she really doesn't give you much of a choice, she just takes off what she doesn't like anyway. She has five or six t-shirts on a constant rotation and is NOT happy if they are all in the wash. She likes anything that looks like it might have been Wesley's, anything with birds on it, loves camo and is now especially fond of skeleton stuff. Here's a few pics from the last month or so :)

potty training

We have a potty sitting in the bathroom and for the past few months Isobel has been sitting on it randomly. Sometimes something happens, sometimes no. But for the last few weeks she has decided that it's time to train her babies...its pretty funny! She sits them on there, gets a book and then sits on the stool in the bathroom and reads the story to the baby. Sometimes she in there for 10 or 15 min :) i have to say potty training a baby is a lot more fun then potty training a toddler!

army run

On Sunday the kids, Jenn and I did the Army Run in Ottawa. This is our second year in a row and I'm hoping to make it a family tradition. It's hard to explain how it feels to walk with and for young vets. For me it brings home what my husband does everyday for us as a family and how lucky we have been. I think it's probably the only 5 km walk I do and shed a few tears along the way!

good bye summer

Summer is coming to a close it would seem. The air has been cool, the water in the pool is low and green, and we picked the watermelon. We still have lots of tomatoes and I'm hoping it stays just warm enough to get a few more red ones! Our cabbage and Brussels sprouts are looking pretty good and the beans are getting scarce but we're still finding a few here and there. It's always sad to say goodbye to all the yummy food, but we're already thinking about next year.

Poubelle

So Wesley came home from his second day of school with his first french word! You guessed it...POUBELLE. It sure brought me back to how funny i thought it was when i was a kid. So yeah for Wesley, because after all knowing how to say garbage is pretty darn important and who doesn't laugh when they hear someone say 'poo'.

And to no ones surprise Isobel's first french word has also become Poubelle. She ran around the house yelling it all evening with surprisingly good pronunciation :)

Praying mantis

A few weekends ago we had the pleasure of meeting a praying mantis. I don't remember ever seeing one before, and i have to say it was pretty cool! We had Auntie Jenn with us at Lemoine point and she has an eye for finding neat stuff. At first we thought it would hop away the second she opened her hands it stayed around for visit, even crawling onto Wesleys arm too!

Here are a few more pics of our adventure :)

School!!

We survived our first week of September. Wesley had his first day of school and he said it was "Good". I'm guessing thats it's pretty much going to be one word answers from here on in :) He did tell Ian about the bathrooms, tag in the gym and his teacher telling him he had to eat him smarties after his lunch... here's a picture of the big guy on his first day!
