The mouse house

Wesley the builder

A few weeks back Wesley started building a structure of some kind in in the back yard. He pulled some extra wood pieces out from behind the shed and started putting them up against the cedar hedge. After they fell over a few times he decided we needed rope. So I got some rope. What started out as a few pieces of wood and some rope has turned into "the mouse house". He's been collecting things from the back yard, putting in a "wood floor and tile" and using mud from the garden to "cement down the beams". When Ian pointed out that they might be cold Wesley insisted on something for walls (a sheet). If you ask him if there are any mice living in there he will tell you "no this is their summer cottage, they are hibernating." So there is now a fort of some kind in our back yard that resembles a homeless persons shelter, and it doesn't sound like it will be coming down anytime soon, at least not until the mice are done their summer vacation.
